School Closure - Lockdown January 2021

Please see attached letter regarding closure of Year 6 Bubble as of 24/3/21

Please see the attached letter from the Director of Children of Children's Services, Liverpool City Council and the Director of Public Health, Liverpool

Please see letter from Councillors Wendy Simon and Barbara Murray to parents/carers

Dear Parents/Carers,

It was necessary to close school today as staff absence meant that we were not able to fulfill the conditions of our COVID Risk Assessment.

These matters have been addressed and we are now in a position where school can reopen tomorrow (Friday 22nd January 2021) for the children of critical workers and vulnerable pupils.

Thank you for your understanding.

Mrs A A Radford and Mr P Doyle

Please see letter regarding school closure on 21 January 2021

Free School Meal Vouchers.

School is in the process of procuring free school meal vouchers for eligible families during the remainder of lockdown.  For last week and this (week beginning 11th January 2021) school will provide a food parcel.  Please note that the parcels distributed last week contained two-week's worth of goods.

We are hoping to set up the agreement that we established with ASDA during the first lockdown whereby vouchers were purchased by school on behalf of families and sent via text message to those families who had access to an internet browser which allowed them to access the voucher.

It is very important that you notify school if you are not in a position to be able to access the vouchers so that we can access them on your behalf.

We are hoping to have the scheme up and running by week commencing 18th January 2021 so it is vital that you notify school as soon as possible if you do not have access to an internet browser before then so that we can obtain the vouchers on your behalf.

Mr Doyle

Please see the attached letter from the Director of Children and Young People's Services and the Director of Public Health about school attendance.

As from tomorrow, 5th January 2021, school will be open for vulnerable children and the children of key workers ONLY.  Please note that only one parent/carer needs to be classed as a key worker for pupils to be eligible to attend school

The link below provides the definition of vulnerable children and key workers:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision.

Please refer to these definitions and if you or your child are eligible, they can attend school at the usual school times.

For those pupils who are not eligible to attend because they are not classed as vulnerable or they do not have a parent/carer who is a key worker, blended learning will be provided.  This may not appear on your child's Seesaw or Dojo account until Wednesday 6th January as teaching staff will need to prepare it tomorrow.  If you do not have access at home to online learning please inform school by phone or email to request paper copies of home learning. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT CHILDREN DO ENGAGE IN HOME LEARNING TO ENSURE THAT GAPS IN ATTAINMENT DO NOT OPEN UP BETWEEN THEM AND THEIR PEERS.

Please do ask school for assistance if you would like support/advice on home learning.
