Teacher Name: Miss Nielsen
Teaching Assistant(s): Mrs Patera
We’re looking forward to an exciting year of learning, creativity and new challenges.
This term we’ll be exploring so many new things. A big focus in maths is on achieving complete times table fluency, which we'll practice daily for the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC). In English, we will dive into setting descriptions and the dramatic world of William Shakespeare to inspire sophisticated writing, focusing on structure and language.
Our RE topic covers Creation and Covenant, exploring how these religious stories shape belief. Scientifically, we'll investigate Animals, including Humans, with a detailed look at the human digestive system. Finally, History will take us back in time to study historical childhoods, comparing the lives of children across different eras. It's set to be a brand-new term and a year of significant growth and discovery!
Class Routines:
Our PE days are Tuesdays and Thursdays, so please ensure children come to school wearing their correct P.E. uniform on these days. It is vital that children bring a water bottle filled with water only every day; these can be refilled throughout the day.
Homework / Spellings:
Reading books must be brought into school daily as reading with an adult happens regularly. Homework and spellings will be given out every Monday (via paper and QR Code) and are expected to be returned completed by Friday. To consolidate learning, we hold our weekly spelling and times table tests every Friday.
Key Dates:
Maths Party Day – Friday 17th October
Dance Day – Monday 20th October
Parent’s Evening – Wednesday 22nd October
