Reception Class

Welcome to our Reception class page!

On this web page we will be putting lots of information about all the exciting things we will be doing this year.

 Mrs Southern - Class Teacher

Mrs Fairclough - Nursery Nurse

Mrs Thompson - Teaching Assistant

The early years curriculum is based on learning through exploration and play.

There are a number of ways you can help your child to learn and make progress:

  • Always be on time.
  • Good attendance
  • Home reading
  • Point out numbers and letters in the environment.
  • count at every opportunity
  • Talk to your child about the world around them.
  • Ask your child what he / she has been doing in school.

Parental Involvement

We believe that parents and / or carers play a vital role in their child’s education. We will support your efforts at home and provide opportunities for you to engage in your child’s education in school.

Reading

Reading can be a special time for you and your child. Research has shown that reading for as little as 5 or 10 minutes each day can help support your child’s educational development.

AUTUMN 1 - MYSELF & MY FAMILY

This half term our topic is Myself and My Family. We would really appreciate if children could bring in a family photograph from home to help with our activities in class. If you prefer you can send me a photograph through our class dojo app and I can print it in school.
