Welcome to our school!
Welcome to Our Lady and St. Philomena’s Catholic Primary School.
Our school motto is:
“The love of Christ shines here”
Our School is Christ centred where Gospel values permeate our daily lives.
We extend our hand of friendship to the wider community in the spirit of love, peace and justice.
We are committed to providing the best possible learning environment to ensure that the achievement of every single child matches their potential. We aim to provide a safe and secure, happy and stimulating learning environment in which your child can acquire high standards of knowledge, skills and understanding in all areas of the curriculum. We recognise the individual needs of all children and through our very committed and experienced staff, will work in partnership with you so that we can develop each child’s full potential in all areas. We have staff who are dedicated and enthusiastic and governors who give up their time voluntarily to take on the important task of managing the school.
Our school is situated on the Sparrow Hall estate in Fazakerley, Liverpool not far from the hospital. We serve the local area and we are a very diverse school community. We work closely with the local community, especially our local councillors, Liverpool local authority, the Archdiocese of Liverpool and our local parish community.
We have 212 pupils in school, including nursery.
As an inclusive Catholic community that promotes a set of values that are enduring and seeks not only to achieve excellence intellectually, but also spiritually. We strive to nurture our children in order that they may become caring, compassionate human beings ready to make a positive contribution to the wider community when they leave our care.
The Home-Parish-School partnership links are very important to us and we aim for them to work in the best interests of your child’s spiritual, personal, social and educational development.
I look forward to meeting you at forthcoming events and working with you and your children now and in the future.
Mrs. Anne A. Radford
Executive Head Teacher.
