Welcome to Our Lady and St. Philomena’s Catholic Primary School.

We are committed to providing the best possible learning environment to ensure that the achievement of every single child matches their potential. We aim to provide a safe and secure, happy and stimulating learning environment in which your child can acquire high standards of knowledge, skills and understanding in all areas of the curriculum.  We recognise the individual needs of all children and through our very committed and experienced staff, will work in partnership with you so that we can develop each child’s full potential in all areas. We have staff who are dedicated and enthusiastic and governors who give up their time voluntarily to take on the important task of managing the school.
 
Our school is situated on the Sparrow Hall estate in Fazakerley, Liverpool not far from the hospital. We serve the local area and we are a very diverse school community. We work closely with the local community, especially our local councillors, Liverpool local authority, the Archdiocese of Liverpool and our local parish community.
We have 210 pupils in school, including nursery.

As an inclusive Catholic community that promotes a set of values that are enduring and seeks not only to achieve excellence intellectually, but also spiritually, we strive to nurture our children in order that they may become caring, compassionate human beings ready to make a positive contribution to the wider community when they leave our care.

The Home-Parish-School partnership links are very important to us and we aim for them to work in the best interests of your child’s spiritual, personal, social and educational development.

Our school opens at 8:00 a.m. for Breakfast Club where all pupils from Reception to Year 6 are welcome to join us for breakfast.  We do not charge for breakfast in school.

Lessons begin at 08:45. We ask all pupils to be in class and ready to start their first lesson at 08:45 rather than arriving at school at 08:45.

The school day ends at 15:15.

This equates to 32.5 hours in a typical school week.
